Want to know how to turn an old calendar and an empty cereal box into picture puzzles for your child?
All you need is a picture from a calendar, some scissors, glue and part of an empty cereal box.
- Cut a picture from an old calendar. (Ask friends and relatives to save their old calendars for you.)
- Cut a piece from the cereal box that is the same size as your calendar picture.
- Apply stick glue over the entire back of the picture.
- Adhere the calendar picture to the cereal box.
- Smooth out any air bubbles.
- Cut into pieces. (6 to 8 pieces is a good start for preschoolers.)
Once you have followed the above steps you will have a frugal puzzle for your child using items that might have been headed for the trash or recycling bin.
If you adhere the picture to the blank side of the cereal box then you will end up with a double sided puzzle. Twice the fun with no extra work.
So, save those old calendars for some frugal fun for your child.
