I have been reading my Bible for 15 minutes each day since I started my series on having a more organized life and home. On January 1st I began reading Genesis. My plan is to read the Bible straight through, 15 minutes at a time.
Today I finished Genesis and started Exodus. One thing that I noticed at the end of Genesis was that most of chapter 49 was an account of Jacob blessing his sons. This wasn’t the first time in Genesis where this type of blessing occurred. A father’s blessing to his sons must have been very important. Why else would Jacob have tricked his father by pretending to be Esau to have the blessing given to him?
If a father’s blessing of his children is important, how much greater is the blessing that God bestowed upon us in the form of His son Jesus Christ?
My dad (Who is a pastor.) talked about telling others about Jesus this morning in his sermon. He encouraged us to tell others about God’s love for them and to invite them to “come and see” so that they might know more about Jesus.
I am guilty of not always sharing about God’s love with others. While I might say something like, “My kids are such a blessing,” that isn’t probably going to win someone to Christ. My prayer is that God will give me the words to say so that others may know Him.
So, I will start today by inviting you to “come and see” more about Jesus through prayer, Bible reading, and gathering with other believers. If you already know Jesus, then I would encourage you to share His love with others.
