Countdown to a New Year: 11 Weeks to a more organized life & home.

Yesterday I talked about feeling a little overwhelmed ever since sickness hit our home last week.  Actually, I have probably been overwhelmed, if I were completely honest with myself, since I got married.  I am not sure I have ever been “good” at being a household manager, even when it was just me and my husband.

I have tried many organizational systems, but they all seem to overwhelm me.  I just can’t seem to make them work.

With that in mind, I had a brainstorm this morning.  There are 11 1/2 weeks left in 2011.  (Isn’t that crazy?)  Anyway, I decided to add one new routine each week starting on Sunday, October 16th (11 weeks until 2012) until the new year.  Hopefully, by then they will become habits and will stick.  Wanna join me?

My plan is to post the new routine each Sunday with a little printable checklist.  Then, each day (That’s the plan anyway.) of the week I will post on my Facebook page (If you aren’t a fan already please “like” me so you don’t miss out.) when I have completed the routine.  I hope that you will join me there and post whether you are doing the challenge with me and if you accomplished the routine, too.

I am not claiming to be the most organized person with her act together.  If you are looking to follow someone like that then my series probably won’t be for you.

However, if you are like me, and quest for organization, lets encourage each other these next 11 weeks.

Week 1:  Read my Bible for 15 minutes each day.

Week 1:  Week in Review

Week 2: Get dressed for success by wearing nice clothes and fixing my hair.

Wow…only 11 weeks left?  That doesn’t seem possible.

I’m in.  I would love to see your suggestions

I know what you mean, Amber.  Where has the year gone?  I am so glad you are going to join me.  I am looking forward to getting things on track in my home and life in general.

I am in! I feel overwhelmed all the time and I don’t even have kids yet. I really need to stop slacking when I get home from work and do a few things every evening so my house isn’t a disaster all the time :) I’m really looking forward to this, thanks Jackie!

I know exactly what you mean, Katie.  I am so glad you will be joining us!  We can all encourage each other.  :)

THis sounds fun! I will try to join you as much as possible. I don’t get on facebook so very often but I do “like” you! Organization is something I am always striving for but not quite reaching. I will give it my best shot though! Encouraging each other and motivating each other is always good.

I like your new blog look. It is very nice!

I am sorry I didn’t get anything linked up on your link party yesterday. I had plans for things I could post but they didn’t get done it time. Lord willing next week!

Thanks, Abbi!  I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels like I will never quite be organized enough.  I am glad you will be joining in.

No problem on not getting anything linked up.  I totally understand.  Have a great rest of the weekend.
