One of the items on our summer bucket list was to “play in the creek”. We have been blessed to live out in the country with plenty of woods and a creek. Sometimes, when there hasn’t been much rain, the creek is quite low. We had the chance to take a walk recently and go into the creek.
The kids love picking up rocks and throwing them in the water to see how big of a splash they can make.
They found a few rocks that they thought were special and wanted to bring home. While looking for rocks we were on the lookout for arrowheads since Julia found one a few years ago in this same spot. We didn’t find any on this day, but we will keep looking.
There was a sandy area that the kids played in and then they tried swinging on some grape vines. Maybe they really are part monkey. 😉
Our dog even came with us and decided to take a little swim.
Since we had to walk along the road to get to the creek, I put Janna in the backpack carrier. She didn’t seem to mind seeing the creek from up high which made me a lot less nervous than if she had been walking around.
Enjoying nature and exploring God’s creation was definitely worth having as part of our bucket list. I am sure we will go back again another time or two this summer. Do you have a creek near where you live?.
