I have another homemade Christmas gift idea for you this evening. Last week I shared a crochet pattern for making a simple cotton washcloth. Then, I showed you how I made a homemade vanilla gift set that included a washcloth.
The gift set I wanted to share with you today also includes a washcloth, but this time I have included some homemade bath products.
I made three identical sets like this for my boys. There are two glycerine soaps and a small lotion bar.
The soaps were “melt & pour” soaps that I added a little coloring and essential oil to before pouring into some molds.
The lotion bars were made with shea butter, coconut oil and beeswax that I melted together and poured into mini silicone cupcake wrappers. If you want a good tutorial for how to make them check out this video by MadeOn.
I put the soap and lotion bar in fold top sandwich bags (a frugal option for packaging) and tied them shut with a twist tie. I made small labels for each product using a sheet of return address labels and Word. Everything went inside of a small box.
My girls, and some women on our gift list, will get a set like this. This set is very similar to the one my boys will get with a few small variations. I included a small glycerine soap, a lavender & coconut oil soap, a lotion bar, and some bath salts.
A simple ribbon is how I chose to wrap the boxes. I also printed out some small labels which makes life much easier on me.
I made a total of 12 of these bath sets. Whew! Have you ever made homemade bath products? I think it’s fun.
Tomorrow I will be back to share a couple of tutorials for some quick and easy kids gifts tomorrow. See you then.
