Outdoor Winter Sensory Fun

January 11, 2011 By Jackie Leave a Comment

My three year old created his own winter sensory table today.  He spent quite a bit of time uncovering our small picnic table while enjoying some outdoor playtime.

My son loved everything about the snow.  He loved touching it, walking in it, rolling around in it, and eating it.  Playing in the snow was a great sensory experience.

Who could ask for a more frugal and fun sensory activity for their preschooler on a winter’s day?  Sure, it’s easier to not have to put on 10 layers to walk around outside, but it is so worth it when you see the look of pure enjoyment on a child’s face.

Have you had snow where you live?  We have had about 4 inches of snow today.
