Week in Review (6-22-13)

What’s New?

After such a busy week last week, this week was much calmer. We did get out a few times to run errands, go to cross country conditioning, and go to the library.

We also got to visit my husband at work on Thursday and eat lunch with him. While we were in the town where he works the girls and I used the gift certificates he got us for a beauty day.

Julia and I got manicures, scalp massages, and a wash & style while Janna just got her nails painted. It was not something I am accustomed to doing and I chipped the polish on a few nails even before we even made it home.

However, it was a lot of fun to get to do something special with my girls while my boys got to hang out with their daddy at work.

Here we are after our beauty treatments. Julia got her hair curled and I got mine straightened. It was funny because my hair is naturally curly and Julia’s is stick straight. :)

Janna has been going around saying, “pretty nails” and showing everyone her fingernail polish. So cute!

Well, that about does it for this week. What’s new with you?

Your hair is gorgeous Jackie! Maybe ask for some straighteners (*Hubby Hint Alert!*) for a birthday pressie, this is an awesome style on you! Your girls are stunners as well!

Thanks so much, Svetlana! I am not sure I would want to go through that much effort very often, but it would be fun to straighten my hair once in a while for a fun change. :)

  • Abbi Cobb

You ladies look lovely! I do think your hair looks great as well but I also think it looks very nice curly! I am just curious if Julia has often wanted curly hair. Here at our house I have natural curl and both of my girls have straight hair and they have always wished they had curly hair too. Mine got curlier as I got older so I try to encourage them in that and meanwhile I think their hair looks lovely.

Thank so much, Abbi! Yes, Julia does want curlier hair though she would rather have big, loose curls than my tight ones. I think women often want hair that they don’t have because I always wanted straight hair like Julia’s. :)

When Julia washes her hair, if she twists a few sections when it is damp and pins them up overnight until it drys she’ll get a looser wave with minimum effort!

Thanks so much for the suggestion, Svetlana! I’m so sorry I missed this when you first posted it.

Lovely photo and very interesting reading about ‘when your temper scares you’.
I still fly off the handle sometimes even now.

Thank you, Merryl! I think that everyone can “fly off the handle” sometimes. That’s why God’s grace is such an awesome gift. :)
