You know that stage when you aren’t really a child anymore and you aren’t yet an adult? They’re called “tweens”, and I have one of them. So far, we are making it through relatively unscathed.
I snapped a few pictures of Julia outside this afternoon. When I loaded them onto the computer I asked her to look at them with me. She didn’t like any of them. When you’re 12 and your body is changing and your hormones are raging I can understand how she felt. For goodness sake, I’m a grown up and rarely like pictures of myself.
It can be so easy to be critical of ourselves, especially the way we look. However, I think that Julia is beautiful no matter what…
…both inside and out.
