James is writing and illustrating a story. So far he has the title page, a copyright page, a dedication page and has started the first chapter. (He’s using the felt covered composition book I made him for Christmas.) He’s quite pleased with his progress, and I am enjoying watching his creative process.
Earlier this evening James decided to plop down on the floor to work on his story when a certain little baby crawled over to get a closer look. Janna’s little hands want to touch everything and her older brother’s story was no exception.
James tolerated Janna’s explorations until his hard work was was threatened to be torn, eaten or a combination of the two. :-)
Looking at this picture reminds me of just how quickly the little people who belong to those little hands will be all grown up. It can’t have been nine years since James’ hands were as little as Janna’s.
I sometimes wonder what kind of adults my children will be. In the blink of an eye I am sure I will find out. You won’t catch me wishing their childhood’s away, though.
No, I will enjoy watching those sweet little hands, and the children they belong to, and pray that I will never forget what a blessing they are.
I took this picture using an automatic close-up setting. I really need to get brave and try the manual settings.
