“I hold you, Mommy?”

Janna has started holding up her arms when she is on the floor and wants us to pick her up. It’s so cute and of course we can’t help but scoop her up and give her hugs and kisses.

This has reminded me of how my older children used to ask to be held, once they could talk. They would say, “I hold you, Mommy?” It was a question which meant, “Please hold me, Mommy.” I am sure they said it that way because I would often ask them if they wanted me to hold them by saying, “Do you want Mommy to hold you?”

I imagine it won’t be long before Janna is able to ask us to hold her instead of just lifting up her arms. Either way, I will be happy to oblige her.

I have sometimes thought it might be nice if someone would hold me when I get tired of walking or just need a little attention. I am sure my husband could try, but with his bad knee I don’t think it would be practical. ;)

However, I do have Someone who will carry me through the tough times. All I need to do is lift up my hands because He is always there, ready to hold me.

      Absolutely!

Once again, fabulous picture. I have the little ones who love to be picked up, too. Then every time I sit down, they want in my lap. It’s crazy, but sweet at the same time.

Thanks, Rachel! Yes, I know what you mean. I was just washing my kitchen woodwork while holding Janna. Not the easiest thing, but someday she will be too big and I will miss holding her. :)
