A few weeks ago on a Sunday afternoon, we hosted a party for our church family. It was our fourth time to host this gathering. We offered swimming, an inflatable water slide, a carry-in dinner, and we even had a few people get baptized. It was a full-service party!
We set up the water slide early so that our kids could enjoy it before everyone arrived. A few of the kids didn’t want to quit playing on it to eat, so we had to deflate it for a while. I have to admit, it is fun.
It was a pretty hot day, so the pool was well-utilized. I should have taken a picture when it was about three times this full of people. Good times!

Before we ate supper my father, our pastor, baptized a few members of our church. Several were children and that was very special.
After the baptism ceremony we had a picnic. My husband was the grill-master and did a fine job on the hot dogs. Everyone brought side dishes and desserts. There was definitely plenty to eat.
After supper, most of the kids got back in the pool and played on the water slide. We even had some fun with water balloons.
We are blessed to have a two-car garage that we could clean up and use for a picnic area. It is located in between the pool and where we set up the water slide. A few people brought pop-up canopies that we put just outside of the garage for additional seating.
It was a wonderful afternoon & evening and I am thankful for the blessings God has provided us with so that we could spend this time of fellowship with our church family. I pray that we can host a party again next year.
