Week in Review (4-13-13)

What’s New

I thought I better get back to writing my weekly review and link post since it has been 3 weeks since I wrote the last one.

We have had a pretty eventful couple of weeks, so I think I will try to just give you the condensed highlight reel version.

  • My husband took a week off from work and we enjoyed having him home.
  • We took a day trip to the Indianapolis Children’s Museum and a Goodwill Outlet (Fun place where you pay by the pound.).
  • We now have 29 baby chicks who will hopefully be laying eggs in a couple of months.
  • 5 out of the 7 of us have had a run in with a fast moving stomach bug.
  • My mom was completely surprised by the birthday party we had for her last Saturday.
  • My baby girl turned two years old. I don’t have any babies any more!

I’d say we’ve had a pretty good couple of weeks.

Picture of the Week

I have taken so many pictures during these past couple of weeks, but I decided to narrow it down to just one to share with you today.

Windy Day

I took this picture of Janna on Wednesday. It was warm, but very windy. I am not sure why she decided that she wanted to take the kitchen utensils outside, but she’s a toddler so who knows. 🙂

If you’re wondering why she has her face all scrunched up it is in partly because of the wind (Did you notice her hair?), and partly because she is saying “It’s windy!”

Links I Loved

  • My big kids had fun doing a science experiment. See the details, and watch a video, of how they used vinegar and baking soda to extinguish a candle. (via Pocketful of Posies)
  • If you want to naturally repel mosquitos this summer, here are some plants you might want to grow. (via One King’s Lane)
  • Speaking of plants, here are 12 homemade organic garden remedies for things like pests, weeds, and fertilizer. (via Hope Gardens)
  • I love this idea for using puffy paint to make letters for craft projects. (via Virginia & Charlie)
  • This post on being discontent with the status quo is good encouragement for all of us to keep trying new things and to challenge ourselves to do better. (via Money Saving Mom)

What’s new with you?
