Week 7 in Review

December 1, 2012 By Jackie 2 Comments

This week our goal was to do at least one load of laundry each day, after we dealt with any Mt. Everest piles of laundry that may have been lurking in our laundry rooms, of course. 🙂

I started this week by doing about 6 loads of laundry because I didn’t do any laundry from Thanksgiving to Monday morning. Once I got back on track I did no less than one load of laundry each day.

People can now walk through our laundry room and not fall over clothes and everyone has plenty of clean clothes in their closets. Woohoo!

While having enough clean clothes has never been a problem, finding them often has been. You see, I am great about washing and drying laundry. What I am not so great at is actually getting the clothes folded and put away.

My coach has been the laundry room annex many times. 😉 However, this week, I have been working hard to make sure that I not only clean and dry the clothes, but that I also fold and put them away.

The biggest take-away from this week’s goal is to do a little each day so that the task isn’t overwhelming. At least that is what works for me.

I also met my goal of drinking four (8 ounce) glasses of water each day, and my body is thanking me for it.

Did you follow along with me this week? Do you like the idea of doing a little laundry each day, or do like to save it up and only do it once a week? I would love to hear from you.

When we were growing up, we had to do it all in one day. We couldn’t afford to do it during the peak electric times in AZ. There was a higher cost to it. There is no way I could do it all in one day with as many people as are in our family. I have actually tried to wash and dry one load each day, but it doesn’t get folded right away. Nor does it get put away. My room is proof of that. Ugh! Just so you know, if a load is dried, it stays in the dryer until I get to it. I hate it when people, who think they are helping, take them out and leave them in a basket. 😛

Thanks for sharing, Rachel. Too funny about your laundry helpers. 🙂 When I was younger we had well water and not much of it so we had to do laundry when there was plenty of water or we had hauled water to fill our well.
