I’m over halfway through with my quest for organization and, while I have accomplished a lot, it does feel like there is still so much to do.
So far I have been reading from the Bible, trying to get 8 hours of sleep, dressing for success, exercising and drinking more water, and keeping my bathrooms “company ready”.
This week I am adding another household task to my list of goals and it is one that I have struggled with for many years.
Laundry!
With seven people in the house I know I have a good excuse for the mountain of laundry that is making it hard to walk through my laundry room right now.
However, I want to climb that mountain, knock it down to a manageable size, and keep it to a small hill at most. 🙂
I have tried all sorts of methods of doing laundry over the years such as washing just a few times a week, washing once a week, etc. The only system that really seems to work is to do one load of laundry each day.
Now, washing and drying our clothes really isn’t my problem. What I seem to have the most trouble with is the folding and putting away part.
So, not only is my goal to wash and dry at least one load of laundry each day, I also will need to fold and put the clothes away as well.
While this may seem basic, I am fully able to admit that this is an area I struggle with and that I will have to be very disciplined.
If you are struggling to tame Mt. Washmore then doing one load of laundry each day may not be enough at first. You may have to do many loads in one day in order to get caught up and then try the one load per day method.
I have created a printable checklist to help keep me focused on this new goal and the other goals I have made so far. If you would like to print one out for yourself simply click the picture or link below.
Week 6 Printable Checklist
Wash, dry, fold/hang up, and put away will be my mantra this week. 🙂
