So far on my quest for organization I have been reading my Bible each day, trying to get 8 hours of sleep each night, getting “dressed for success”, and exercising and drinking more water each day.
This week I will get away from personal goals and move to housekeeping goals by keeping my bathrooms “company ready”.
What is “company ready” you ask?
Well, it means that if someone were to come to your house right now and need to use the bathroom you wouldn’t be embarrassed to have them do so.
That means no towels piled in the corner, no toothpaste on the counter, and a clean toilet.
My plan for this week is to thoroughly clean each of our three bathrooms from top to bottom, a spring cleaning if you will.
- Monday-Wash shower curtains and valances. Clean the windows and mirrors.
- Tuesday-Clean the counters and toilets.
- Wednesday-Scrub the bathtub/shower.
- Thursday-Organize cabinets, shelves, drawers, and medicine cabinet.
- Friday-Sweep and mop the floors.
After our bathrooms are thoroughly clean then I will be able to do a “swish and swipe” of them each day to keep them clean.
That means that each morning I will use a hand towel to wipe down the counter (and mirror if necessary) and use a toilet brush to clean the toilet bowl quickly. Then I will replace the hand towel and call it clean.
To help keep me focused on my goals I have created a checklist. You can print one out for yourself by either clicking the picture or link below.
