We all know that kids need lots of sleep. Sleep is important for keeping kids’ bodies, as well as their minds, healthy.
That is why my teenager gets at least 9 hours of sleep and my younger kids get at least 10 hours of sleep each night.
You would assume that since I know how important sleep is for kids that I would also know that it is important for me to get enough sleep, too.
And, I do know that.
However, I don’t always get the recommended 8 hours of sleep. Too many times I stay up late to work on various projects that I haven’t been able to finish during the day. I’ve seen 1:00 am too many times in the past month.

When I was in college I had the philosophy that if I couldn’t get it done before 10:00 pm then it wasn’t going to get done.
Why have I thrown that philosophy out the window?
Well, I’m a mom of 5 for starters. I have 2 blogs and a design business. I have a home to run.
While these are valid reasons why I have a lot to do, they are not good reasons to not get enough sleep.
In fact, because of all the things I have to do during the course of a day, I have even more reason to get plenty of sleep.
That is why my goal this week is to get at least 8 hours of sleep each night.
To help me stay on the right track I have created a handy checklist that also includes a reminder to read my Bible each day (last week’s goal).

Will you join me in this goal of getting at least 8 hours of sleep each night?
