We are at the end of week one of my 11 week quest for organization and, while my accomplishments can’t be seen, I did meet my goal.
My goal this week was to make reading from the Bible a daily habit. I didn’t put any restrictions on time or how much to read. I simply read as much as I could each day.
Would you believe that I read through three books of the Bible using this “method”? Granted, they weren’t the longest books of the Bible, but they were some of my favorites.
I read through Daniel, Esther, and Ruth, and I always find a lot of encouragement from those books.
Also, I love the stories of those three people’s lives. Stories of standing strong, of faith, and of love. They make me wonder what my story will be when I am gone. They make me want to be more.
I am not sure which book I am going to read next, but I know I want to keep up this habit of daily Bible reading.
Are you in a busy season of life where you find yourself putting off reading the Bible because you have too much to do?
I just want to encourage you to make the time. If we can’t find the time to put reading the Bible as a top priority then how can we ever expect to have the time to have an organized home?
Could you check Facebook or Pinterest one less time during the day in order to make room for daily Bible reading?
