Today is the first day of my series 11 Weeks to a More Organized Life & Home. I hope you will join me on this journey.
Week 1: Read the Bible for 15 minutes each day.
Being a busy mom with young children, it can be easy to say that I don’t have time to commit to in-depth Bible reading/study time. There is laundry to do, dishes that need washed, kids to wrangle, and a whole host of other tasks that need my attention.
Yet, how can I have the time to surf the Internet, watch TV, or craft but not have enough time to read the Bible?
Did I step on your toes with that question? I know it hit home with me.
So, the first routine we are starting with is to spend 15 minutes each day reading the Bible.
Before you get all rigid and uptight about those 15 minutes I want you to simply plan to open up a Bible and read from it every day. If one day you only read for 10 minutes and the next you read for 20 minutes, that is just fine. Just make a commitment to spend time in God’s Word every day.
Something that keeps me focused is to set a timer. That way I am not worrying about how long I have been reading. You will be amazed at how quickly 15 minutes will go. I bet you will also be surprised at how much you can read and learn in that amount of time.
Here’s a checklist you can print out to help you keep track of your Bible reading this week. Also, I will be posting daily on Facebook which verses I have read.
Verse of the week: Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105
