Last week I told you about how our family has been enjoying Brussels sprouts. Well, this week I wanted to tell you about another vegetable we have tried and enjoyed, turnip greens.
I wasn’t sure if we would like them, but we really wanted to get out of our vegetable rut. You know, eating the same vegetables, like corn and green beans, over and over again.
I am not sure if this should even be considered a recipe because it is so simple, but here you go.
Simple Turnip Greens Recipe
Author: Jackie @ Blessings Overflowing
Ingredients
- 1-2 Tbsp. Bacon Grease
- 1 Bag of Frozen Turnip Greens with Diced Turnips
Instructions
- Heat the bacon grease in a skillet.
- Add the turnip greens.
- Saute over low heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. (You can cover the skillet with a lid to speed up the cooking process.)
Notes
The bacon grease makes the turnip greens especially tasty, but you could always use olive oil instead if you prefer.
You can use fresh turnip greens instead of frozen.
