My kids have always loved imitating my husband and I by talking on the phone like we do (My two year old plays on an old phone and says, “Yes, hello.” every time.), or trying to type on the computer like we do.
If you have a toddler who likes to type on the computer keyboard I recommend getting an old keyboard for them.
Simply cut off the cords right at the base, make sure there are no loose keys, and let your toddler have fun pretending to type.
While I know there are computer programs designed for toddlers sometimes it is nice to simply encourage pretend and unplugged play.
Also, it is fun for toddlers to imitate you while you are working on the computer.
My oldest son was asking my toddler to type specific letters a couple of days ago and it was so sweet watching them interact.
My little girl loved finding the letters for her big brother. 🙂
You can even set up a pretend office for your little one (preschoolers would love this too) and include a telephone as well.
