Today I wanted to share a toddler time activity that my 22 month old came up with all on her own last week.
You see, we have a refrigerator that has water and ice in the door. Thankfully, it has a lock button so that she doesn’t have access to flood our kitchen. 🙂
However, Janna will periodically test the buttons in the hopes that water or ice will come out. Well, she got her wish when she tested it last Thursday and an ice cube came out.
Since she was so fascinated with the ice cube and kept telling me it was cold, I decided to give her a small pan and and empty juice bottle so she could better play with the ice cube. She hadn’t even gotten out of her pajamas yet. 🙂
After Janna put the ice cube into the bottle she poured it into the pan.
Then she picked the pan up and tried to dump the ice cube back into the bottle.
Success! This activity kept Janna entertained for about 10 minutes.
I am always amazed at how my children can be so interested in non-toys. While doing this activity my little girl was working on motor skill building as well as learning that ice is not only cold but it melts. 🙂
Also, be sure to check out this ice activity Janna did last summer with her brothers.
