Good afternoon! I wanted to share the Sunday school craft I did with my class this morning. We began by reading the story of how Jesus called his disciples in the Jesus Storybook Bible.
To go along with the story each child got to make a fishing game so they would remember to be fishers of men just like Jesus was.
I gave the children some fish I had cut out of different colors of paper. They were allowed to color them however they wished. Some of the kids chose to add gills. 🙂
Then, I gave them small pieces of sticky-backed magnets to put on the mouths of their fish.
To make the poles I gave each child a dowel rod that was at least a foot, maybe more, long. We tied some string to one end of the dowel and the other end of the string to a large paper clip.
The kids had a lot of fun “fishing” and I think this was a fun way to help the children remember the lesson.
We also sang the song “Fishers of Men” several times. It was a fun morning.
