One of the items on our summer bucket list was to go strawberry picking.
Last Friday my kids and I, along with my mom and my brother’s family, picked about 65 pounds of strawberries at a local u-pick farm.
We didn’t get to go last year due to the fact that the strawberries were destroyed by a bad storm. So, we were overjoyed to have locally grown strawberries again.
My kids were awesome strawberry pickers and made much shorter work of the task than the last time we went.
Not only did we get to enjoy fresh strawberries but my children learned a few things as well.
They learned that by working together jobs can go faster. They also learned how strawberries grow and how to identify ripe, rotten, and unripe berries.
We had a great time and I hope to keep this on our summer bucket list for years to come.
If you want to know what we did with all of those strawberries check out my other blog, Blessings Overflowing.
Have you ever picked berries at a u-pick farm before?
