It is that time of year to start making Christmas crafts. I hope to post Christmas craft ideas on Tuesdays and Thursdays this month starting with today.
Yesterday I painted each child’s hand with brown paint and stamped it onto the center of a paper plate. Then I added a little more brown paint to their thumb and stamped it right below their thumbprint that was already on the plate (I cut the excess paper plate off and only left the inner circle part.).
Tomorrow the children will turn their handprints into reindeer like the one pictured above. However, I couldn’t wait to see how it would turn out, so I helped my almost 3 year old son finish his. I used a black permanent marker to make hooves, antlers, and mouth. Then I used a red marker to make a nose.
Next, we spread glitter glue on the white areas of the plate. A finger or paintbrush will both work to spread the glitter glue around.
After the glitter dried I punched a hole at the top and threaded a piece of yarn through it.
I love handprint crafts and think this little Rudolf is too cute. I found the idea at Handprint and Footprint Art, but made some modifications.
I am linking this post to Show & Tell at ABC and 123.
