We have had quite a bit of snow this winter. However, I have had some sick little boys and they haven’t been able to get outside to play in the most recent snow we received. I decided that if the kids couldn’t go out in the snow then the snow needed to come to them.
They had a lot of fun playing at the kitchen table with the snow. If they had gotten too messy I could have put snow in the bathtub and let them play with it there. However, it wasn’t a problem.
I also brought a few icicles inside and they liked those, too. Although, the snow was definitely more fun for them.
They also ate some snow, and we even put some snow in cups and made lemonade slushies. (We just poured lemonade on top of some snow.)
Have you ever let your children play with snow indoors? If not, it might be something fun to try. I know my children enjoyed their indoor snow play. Plus, you can teach your preschoolers about the concepts of freezing and melting. Learning through play is a great way for preschoolers to learn.
