Pampering Gift in a Jar (with Free Printable Tags)

April 28, 2015 By Jackie 4 Comments

With Mother’s Day quickly approaching I wanted to share a simple, clutter-free gift idea that would be perfect for a mom, friend, or anyone. It doesn’t even have to be a Mother’s Day gift but would work for a birthday or just because.

The pampering gift in a jar pictured above was what I made for my husband’s secretary for her birthday. While the items pictured below are what I used you can use any items you choose, even homemade beauty products.

I filled a wide-mouth quart jar with several Burt’s Bees products, some chocolates, and a small heat thereapy rice bag.

I chose a wide mouth mason jar so that the items would be easier to get in and out. Then I just packed all of the items into the jar. It was kind of a tight fit but I wanted to get as much in the jar as I could. 🙂

I created a label and used a glue stick to attach it to a mason jar lid.

I finished the jar off with the canning jar ring to seal everything in and a ribbon tied around the neck to dress it up a little.

If you want to print out the labels I made click the link below. There are four different color choices with three labels of each color so you have lots of choices and can make more than one jar.

A couple of weeks ago I made a smaller version (pint sized jar) for my mom’s birthday that used fewer Burt’s Bees products but included a gift card to a local garden center. Both the jar pictured above and my mom’s were well-received.

Clutter-free, consumable gifts are great for anyone. Plus, mason jars are so versatile and can be used for so many things that they make a great holder for all of the pampering items.

What items would you put in a pampering jar?

That is a very thoughtful gift. I love to give practical gifts. I might add a cheap usb stick with free (public domain) audio books to the jar.

We love to give those therapy bags, even for kids birthday party loot bags. Thanks for the idea of adding it to a jar.

Thanks, Lisa! I love your idea of adding a USB drive with audio books on it.

What a lovely thoughtful idea for a gift for anyone. Really you could adapt the contents to suit the recipient couldn’t you?

Thanks, Merryl! You are right. You could put anything inside of a jar and give it as a gift. 🙂
