My Week in Pictures (7-29-12)

This week was a busy but good one. We celebrated Julia’s birthday, took a short trip to visit my husband at work and to visit a museum, and we have been building a new play set for the kids.

Here’s a look at our week, in pictures.

Sunday

We started a revamp of our outside playground last Sunday afternoon. As you can see our swing set had seen better days. We have worked a lot on it the past two days and are making some progress. The kids have been excellent helpers.

Monday

Group hug! 🙂 James laid down on the floor and Joseph decided to give him a hug. This prompted Janna to jump on top of Joseph and then Julia and Joshua just had to join in the fun too.

Tuesday

I picked 2 bushels of tomatoes this past week. I juiced all of the tomatoes and I am in the process of making spaghetti sauce to can. I am definitely thankful for all of the produce we have had so far from our garden.

Wednesday

When I was transferring the butternut squash I had frozen from a cookie sheet to a freezer bag someone decided take a couple of pieces and use them as teething toys. 🙂

Thursday

I am now the mom of a teenager. When Julia was placed into my arms 13 years ago it seemed like the teenage years were a long way off. In reality, the years seem to have sprinted by. I am so thankful God gave her to us and I am looking forward to these teenage years without fear.

On a non-sentimental note: Julia had trouble blowing out the last 2 candles on her cake. She got the giggles and I almost had to help her out like I did on her first birthday. She finally blew them all out, though.

Friday

On Friday we visited my husband at his new workplace. Just 2 blocks away there is a historical museum that we went to see before we went to lunch with him. It was a fun day. You can read more details about our day in this post.

Saturday

Yesterday we worked more on our playground project. It doesn’t really look like any of these 4 were helping, does it? I guess they were on their 15 minute break.

Sunday

I posted this on my personal Facebook page this evening with the caption, “Redneck Crib: When your baby is too dirty to sleep inside.” 😉

Janna napped for about an hour in this box because we were all filthy from working outside and Janna wanted to sleep before we were ready to stop working. So, we made a makeshift crib out of the box our new slide came in.

Well, that’s a look at our week. I hope you had a great week, too.
