We finished our study of the letter C and the color yellow this morning. The children got to take their folders home. For the outside of the folders the children painted them using cars. (See post here for more info.)

The inside of the folder included a letter “Cc” tracing paper and mini book from First-School, a caterpillar from DLTK-Kids, a caterpillar ruler from The Very Hungry Caterpillar Literature Notes, a car, the numbers 1-20, and The Little Caterpillar poem from this post.
I wanted to tell you a little about the caterpillar ruler. It was nothing more than a piece of paper with 9 caterpillars drawn on it. We measured things from all over the classroom plus their hands and feet. It was such a great activity for not only introducing the children to measurement, but it built their counting skills as well. Fun!
We had a great week studying the letter “C” and the color yellow. Monday we will begin our study of the letter D and the color green. Check back then for more ideas for preschoolers.
