Today I am sharing my first post as a contributing writer over at the MeMeTales blog. I would love it if you would stop by and read my post about 5 ways your child can benefit from being read to.
Do you remember playing the license plate game when you were a kid? We usually just used a piece of lined paper to write the names of the states whose license plates we saw while traveling. While this works just fine I decided to put a little twist on this during our trip to Florida last month.
I gave each of my children a blank map of the Continental United States. Every time we saw a license plate from a different state we would color it in on our maps. We found 38 states and were totally shocked when we saw an Alaska license plate at Disney World. I guess we needed a map with all 50 states after all.
If you are looking for a blank map to print out this is a good one. United States of America Outline Map
I just enlarged an image I found through a Google search for the map pictured above, but I like the one I just linked to better.
Have you ever played the license plate game like this?
