My son loved making this house out of a capital letter H. I have done this craft several times and the kids always enjoy it.
This letter craft doubled as a shape learning activity because all of the pieces I cut were rectangles or triangles.
I wanted my son’s house to look like our house so I cut 2 long white rectangles and one short one to make the H. I cut 4 yellow rectangles for the windows, a green rectangle for the door, and a brown rectangle for the chimney. A green triangle finished off the house and served as the roof.
As you can see from the smile on my little guy’s face, he really enjoyed this activity. 🙂
We also read one of my favorite books. The Little House by Virginia Lee Burton has been a favorite of mine since I was little. Having lived in the country almost all of my life, I can definitely empathize with the little house who was curious about the city but didn’t enjoy it once she was living in it. 🙂
