Today I am sharing one last letter H post before moving on to the letter I tomorrow.
We chose to do some hippo themed activities for the lowercase letter H.
We cut out and glued all of the pieces together and I think it turned out so cute.
I traced a lowercase letter h, an oval, and two half circles onto a piece of gray paper with a permanent marker. I also used pink paper for two inner ears and white paper for teeth.
We used a permanent marker to make the nostrils and eyes. I was going to have my son glue wiggly eyes onto his hippo but for the life of me I can’t find our supply. Where on earth did a peanut butter jar full of wiggly eyes go? 🙂
We also read the book Hippos Go Berserk by Sandra Boynton. This was such a cute counting book. The thing I liked most about it was that there weren’t just ten hippos, but 45 in all because of the way more hippos kept being added. Very fun to read.
Well, that about wraps it up for the letter H. What letter are you working on?
