Today my 4 1/2 year old son and I did some dog themed activities to learn about the letter D.
We made this cute dog out of a capital letter D. I got the idea for this craft from The Princess and the Tot.
My son colored a capital letter D with brown, grey, and black crayons because we decided those were dog colors.
He decided to make stripes of colors and really got into his work. 🙂
When he was finished coloring he glued the letter D to a piece of construction paper and added an ear, whiskers, a nose, a collar, a tag, and a wiggly eye.
We also read the book Go, Dog. Go! by P.D. Eastman several times. Later my son read it to some of his stuffed animals. It was so cute.
Finally, we acted out some finger plays that I found at Step by Step Childcare.
We had a great morning learning about the letter D and dogs.
