Our Internet was down for 5 days last week so I am behind on posting our letter activities. I normally like to post one letter per week, but that didn’t happen so letter B is being carried over to this week. I’m not going to stress about it, though. (Have you seen Anger Management? Goosfraba. 😉 )
Anyway, one day last week my son and I made bees out of a lowercase letter b.
He first colored the letter b with a yellow crayon and then I cut it out. He glued it to a blue piece of paper and added some black wings and yellow pipe cleaner antennae.
Then my son glued black strips of paper to the letter b to act as stripes. A wiggly eye and a hand drawn smile finished off our bee.
I also printed a letter B do-a-dot page from Confessions of a Homeschooler. My son used a blue bingo marker to fill in each dot. This was great for fine motor practice.
We also read the book The Berenstains’ B Book because I hadn’t gone to the library to get any bee books. My little guy asked me to read this book over and over. Every word, with the exception of the word “and”, starts with a letter B. I read it so much that he was later able to recite most of it to his baby sister.
