Well, I sure didn’t mean for it to take me so long to finish posting about the letter B. What with no internet for almost 5 days a couple of weeks ago and then our color printer going out, posting preschool activities got put on the back burner.
Today I am ready to finish out the letter B by posting about the lapbook my son and I made.
Here is the inside which I will explain more about below. I laminated everything except the bee coloring book.
My son used a balloon to paint the outside of the the lapbook.
These bee size sorting cards came from 2 Teaching Mommies.
My son really liked these counting clip cards from 2 Teaching Mommies. The very first time he looked at the cards he was able to immediately tell how many bees were on each card and used a clothespin to clip the corresponding number.
He didn’t even count them but was getting them right. I thought I might have a genius on my hands, then he missed one. So, who knows?
My son enjoyed coloring the bee coloring book from 2 Teaching Mommies. He wasn’t at all concerned about staying in the lines, but he loved choosing the right colors. Anyone else have a 4 year old who doesn’t care about coloring in the lines? It doesn’t bother me that he scribbles, though.
Finally, my son used a dry erase marker to trace an upper and lowercase letter B tracing page from DLTK-Teach. Plus, we acted out the baby bumblebee finger play I put in his lapbook.
I think that making lapbooks for each letter is proving to be a great way to help my son review important concepts.
