My children have always loved to paint. My 4 year old is no exception and he was very excited when I told him he was going to paint with apples today.
I cut an apple in half and then we pushed a large popsicle stick into the center. I have been doing this for several years now and makes painting with apples so much easier.
My son painted a file folder which will become an apple lapbook, the letter “A” page above from DLTK-Kids, two pieces of paper, and his shirt. Well, the shirt was accidental. I guess that will teach me to have him wear a paint shirt next time. 🙂
The “A” paper will go into my son’s alphabet binder which I am excited that we are starting. I made one with my older two sons and they loved looking at all of the letters.
We also talked about the parts of an apple and how the tiny seeds can grow into apple trees which will produce more apples.
We had fun apple painting and will be doing more apple themed activities tomorrow.
