My baby is cloth diapered and I have had a lot of fun making him diapers out of various repurposed items.
I had an old pair of jeans that had some major wear on the back side, so I thought I would repurpose them into a diaper.
I used the RRP one-size fitted diaper pattern because it is not only easy to sew, but the diapers can be worn for a long time.
I cut the leg of the jeans open and laid the pattern so that the seam of the jeans was in the center of the diaper. Then I used a 100% cotton t-shirt for the inner.
The diaper pattern sews up quickly, and I had fun making a “free” diaper. It would need a cover if I were going to use it under pants. However, I think it will look cute during warmer weather if the baby just wears a t-shirt with the diaper.
