My preschool Sunday school class is still crafting through The Jesus Storybook Bible, and this week I am sharing a craft we made to go with the story of Jacob, Leah, and Rachel.
I spent a lot of time racking my brain trying to figure out how I would ever be able to come up with a craft for this story.
Making handprint hearts seemed like a good idea since I could focus on the aspect of love. I got the idea for making the handprint heart from Silly Eagle Books where there is a nice tutorial on how to place your child’s hands on a folded piece of paper in order to get the heart in the middle.
After we traced, cut out, and glued the handprints to a piece of paper I told the children they could add to their papers with crayons. One boy totally surprised me with the way he drew Jacob in the center and Leah and Rachel in each corner. I thought he did a great job with the concept.
I have to admit that this story was a hard one to teach, but the kids really handled it well.
