We have had so much rain this past week that my garden is starting to resemble a jungle. It has grown quite a bit since last week.
While my plants have grown this week, so have the weeds. I love that I haven’t had to water my garden, but it has made it hard to get in and deal with the weeds.
I am excited to report that we have enjoyed fresh lettuce from our counter height garden box this week and we should be able to enjoy it for the next week.
My broccoli, cabbage, and cauliflower plants have become very full and are starting form florets and heads.
My tomato plants are blooming and getting to a point where I am going to need to stake them up so they aren’t laying on the ground if they get a little bigger.
My green beans are all blooming and one of my rows of corn is going to be knee high by the fourth of July.
I am really having to work to keep the cucumber plants going in the right direction because they want to go all over the place instead of up the fence.
My zucchini plants are really getting big.
Check out what I found hiding behind the leaves. One of the zucchinis is a couple of inches long already. It won’t be long now until we are able to enjoy fresh zucchini.
Two of my potato towers have grown so much that they need straw added the rest of the way up and more soil added.
Finally, my blackberry bushes are pretty loaded and I am so excited because we didn’t get many last year. I plan to make quite a bit of blackberry jelly this summer as well as freeze as many berries as I can.
Overall, I am really happy with how well my garden is growing. How is your garden growing this week?
