Are you struggling today with the tasks at hand?
The monotonous housework, the children, your spouse and more are all vying for your attention.
The feelings of doubt start to creep in.
It’s too hard.
I’m too busy.
There isn’t enough time.
If only I had more help.
Why do I even bother?
While the days are long and you wonder if you will ever get enough sleep again I want you to remember something.
You were put here for such a time as this.
God has chosen you for the task of mothering that tantrum throwing toddler.
He has given you the strong-willed child to love.
Those dirty clothes and dishes are a sign that you have enough.
God believes you can do the tasks He has set before you.
One of my favorite passages of the Bible is the story of Esther. She had the fate of her people on her shoulders, yet she could be put to death for going to the king uninvited.
Mordecai wasn’t about to let her feelings of doubt get the better of her.
Esther 4:13-14 And Mordecai told them to answer Esther: “Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews. For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
While you may not have the fate of an entire nation riding on what you do today, you do have the people in your life to whom you mean the world.
So, hold your head high as you wipe those snotty noses, cook those meals, wash those clothes, shepherd those hearts and know that you were put here for such a time as this.
