Week 7: Do at least 1 load of laundry each day.

It is week 7 which means we are getting ever closer to the new year and, hopefully, a more organized life and home. So far we have been reading our bibles, getting more sleep, “dressing for success”, exercising, and keeping our kitchens and bathrooms clean.

Now, I want to be honest with you. I have been slacking in the exercising department, but I haven’t been sitting like a bump on a log. My exercise has consisted of painting our living room, running up and down our stairs, keeping the house picked up, etc. I am hoping to get back to more focused exercising this week.

Also, because I was trying to get everything ready for Thanksgiving I didn’t get as much sleep as I would have liked.

I just wanted to let you know that even though I am creating this little 11 week series of goal setting, I am not perfect and haven’t met all of my goals. I am a work in progress, though. Plus, I am trying and that is the most important thing.

Now, about this week’s goal: Do 1 load of laundry each day.

Laundry is one of my problem housekeeping areas. With 7 people living here, there are a lot of dirty clothes to wash.

I have tried saving them all up and only washing once a week, but that never seems to work out well.

It seems like the method that works best for me is to do one load of laundry, from start to finish, each day. That means washed, dried, folded, and put away.

Now, if your laundry is piled as high as Mt. Everest I don’t think this method will work for you right away. You are going to have to do several loads each day until you are caught up.

Once you get caught up on laundry then doing one load from start to finish each day should make it much easier to tame the laundry monster. 🙂

Our other goal for the week is to drink 4 (8 ounce) glasses of water each day. I have a big cup that holds 32 ounces so I will fill it up in the morning and try to drink it all during the course of the day.

So, are you with me for this week’s goal? I will be posting on Facebook when I get my laundry finished each day.

Also, here’s a printable checklist to help you keep track of our daily goals.

Is doing laundry a household task you enjoy or disdain?h
