Crocheted Hats

I crocheted these hats as gifts using this pattern. I used the last of the yarn from the ski masks I made that are shown in an older post. The hats went together quickly. I did add an extra row before doing the post rows. I honestly can’t remember if I used a smaller hook for the camo hat. I must have since it was for my son. That’s what I get for not posting when I actually made these. 🙂 My oldest son was the recipient of the camouflage hat, and the purple hat was given to a member of a board I’m on as part of a trade. I think both liked the hats. That makes any effort on my part worthwhile.

Crocheted Hats

About 2 weeks ago I crocheted hats for my kids. They are simple double crocheted hats done in the round. I used Paton’s Merino wool yarn for the boys’ hats, and Licorice wool yarn for my daughter’s hat. I found the pattern for the hats on Diaper Sewing Divas. It was written by one of the moms there. I shortened the pattern so that it didn’t turn up at the bottom. I also used a small amount of blue I had leftover from a wool wrap to add accents to my older boys’ hats. I obviously made the baby’s hat smaller, but with the same pattern idea. They were quick and fun to make. The kids have enjoyed wearing them. Winter doesn’t seem to be finished here, so they may get more use out of them than I thought they would.
