I spend a lot of time in the kitchen cooking for my family. Lately I have felt like things aren’t organized and not as clean as I would like. My kitchen could really use some TLC.
I have decided not to wait until spring to do a thorough cleaning. Who wants to be stuck inside deep cleaning their house when the weather is nice? I don’t, so I am going to do my “spring cleaning” this winter, and I am starting with the kitchen.
Based on all of the things I hope to accomplish, I have decided to give myself 10 days to get the job done right. I don’t want to spend 3 or 4 hours in one day, but thought that breaking up the job into manageable tasks might make it easier and even, dare I say, fun.
What do I hope to accomplish, above and beyond my normal kitchen chores, during these two weeks? Here’s my list.
- Day 1: Come up with a plan.
- Day 2: Clean and organize all drawers.
- Day 3: Clean and organize all cabinets.
- Day 4: Clean and organize countertops.
- Day 5: Wash walls and wall decor.
- Day 6: Wash all cabinets, wood trim and table and chairs.
- Day 7: Clean the oven and toaster oven.
- Day 8: Clean the microwave and dishwasher.
- Day 9: Clean the refrigerator.
- Day 10: Scrub the floor
Maybe you would like to give your kitchen a thorough cleaning, too. If you would, then be sure to check back each day to let us know how you are doing. I will be sharing recipes for homemade cleaners and some before and after pictures as well.
