Yesterday I laid out a plan for how I will go about cleaning and organizing my kitchen. Today I cleaned out and organized all of my kitchen drawers.
I didn’t purchase anything new for this project. Sometimes it is easy to think that we need to run out and buy the latest organizational products in order to have an organized home. However, I try to use things I already have in order to save money. Take the drawer pictured below, for example.
I grabbed a few assorted empty containers I had in our basement and put them to use in my utensil drawer. Sure, it isn’t pretty, but it is much more organized, which was my goal. How often do people come over to your house and open your kitchen drawers to see if you have the latest in organizational products anyway. 🙂
Here are two of my drawers before and after I cleaned and organized them. I feel much better about them and even moved some drawer contents to other drawers in an effort to be more efficient.
Since I have quite a few cabinets, I decided to start cleaning and organizing my cabinets this afternoon. I am about halfway finished and will finish the rest tomorrow. I am so glad I am spreading out this kitchen cleaning process.
Did you clean out your kitchen drawers today? Did you find anything interesting? I found a used bandaid in one drawer. Gross!
