Catching My Breath

Do you ever have times when you feel like you may never get ahead?

Your to-do list is a mile long, the dishes & laundry are piled high, and everyone needs something from you.

I have those days (weeks), too.

Yesterday I spent most of the day inside juicing and canning tomatoes. By about 4:00 p.m. I felt like I might burst if I didn’t get outside to enjoy the beautiful fall day we were having. So, the kids and I headed to the woods.

Wooded Path

When we were outside enjoying God’s beautiful creation I felt like I could finally catch my breath after such a busy week last week. (Did you miss me? :) )

The simple beauty of our woods reminded me of how much I have to be thankful for, how I need to praise God all of the time, especially in the busiest of seasons.

These busy days are a chance to rely on God more, not to keep trying to make everything work on our own. Taking a step back sometimes, even for just a few minutes, can help put things into perspective.

Let every thing that has breath praise the Lord. Psalm 150-6

Today, if you feel overwhelmed, take a moment to catch your breath.

Then praise God for all of His blessings…even that pile of laundry, that massive to-do list, and those people that need you…because it is in the praising that the feeling of being overwhelmed can be turned to joy.
