Last week I made about 2 dozen dish scratchers in assorted colors. They are awesome for doing dishes and they look pretty, too.
I learned to make scratchers years ago from my grandma. She used to make a bunch every year for Christmas gifts, and they were always well-received.
My grandma always used a needle and thread, but I “cheat” and use rubber bands. A few years ago I even posted a tutorial of exactly how I make the scratchers.

Netting Dish Scratcher Tutorial
Just a note, don’t use tulle for dish scratchers because it isn’t scratchy enough. Make sure you are getting netting. You will know you have the right stuff if it feels rough.
