Week in Review (3-23-13)

Good afternoon. I hope you have had a great week.

We have spent the morning working outside and plan to head back out soon to work some more because today is only a little chilly but sunny. However, tomorrow we are supposed to have a “winter” storm hit. Yay, Spring! ;)

One of the jobs we did outside today was to get the garden tilled for the first time. We aren’t ready to plant, especially since we are supposed to get over 6 inches of snow tomorrow, but it won’t be long now. I am excited to start posting weekly garden updates in the near future.

This afternoon we are going to work on cleaning out on of our sheds to use as a chicken building because we hope to get some baby chicks soon. It will be so nice to have our own eggs again.

The picture I have chosen as my favorite of the week is of Janna wearing her daddy’s shoes.

How fun that you were able to till your garden! I am looking forward to that. Meanwhile we are enjoying our snow - yesterday we went skiing and today the kids went sledding with their cousins. I hope you enjoy your snow too!

Thanks, Abbi! I am glad you have been enjoying your snow. We are going to go out this afternoon and play in ours. It’s hard to believe that this time last year the kids were out playing in shorts & T-shirts. :)

We are out of the woods for snow. It has been a little too warm. It went from winter to summer. What’s up with that? Oh well. I am working on the garden, but it’s a lot of work for a 7 month pregnant body - overweight at that. I got our strawberry plants in today and the other day I got the early season potatoes down. It will be a very slow process. If I can get one row planted a day, it will be good.

Our weather kind of went from winter to spring, too. However, I think we are going to get a little bit of winter this weekend because it is going to get significantly colder.

It sounds like you are doing great for being that far along in your pregnancy. I don’t have anything planted yet. I think next week is when we are supposed to be able to plant here.

      Take care.
