This week has been a busy one as I have been sewing and crafting like crazy to get ready for two parties that are happening today.
I made a dress and purse for my niece’s birthday party, and I have been planning a 50th anniversary party for my husband’s aunt & uncle.
Preparing for these two events has left me little time for blogging this week. However, be prepared for lots of posts next week about my crafty adventures.
In other family news, Joseph gave me a little scare in the middle of the night Tuesday/Wednesday. He had a fever so high that when I took his temperature at 2:30 a.m it said “Hi”. I kid you not!
Due to the fact that he had a febrile seizure when he was 15 months old I gave him some medication right away.
His fever crept back up a couple of times on Wednesday, but other than that he seemed just fine. His little body worked hard to fight off whatever virus was trying to make him sick.
Before he came down with the fever he and Joshua were having some fun in the basement. I think they were trying to have me play a game of I-Spy with them because for a second I wasn’t sure where Janna had gone. Can you spot her in this picture?
I sure love these kids of mine. I never know what they will come up with next.
Even with my busy week, I was able to do a little blog reading. Here are a few links that I thought you might be interested in reading.
- If you have ever thought about making your own peanut butter, here are 7 homemade nut butter recipes to choose from.
- Here is a tutorial for how you can make laminate countertops look like glossy stone. The blow torch is a little scary, but overall the counters look really cool.
- I am always a little leary of posts that say “easiest” or “best ever”, but since I love pie this “easiest yummiest pie crust ever” recipe might be worth trying.
- I have heard about ghee, but have never used it in cooking. Thanks to this how to make ghee tutorial I think I will try making my own.
- Joseph loves crackers, so I think he and I are going to have to try to make some whole wheat & cheddar “goldfish” crackers soon.
