Fabric Flower Tutorial

When I recently posted about how I reorganized my craft room I shared a picture of the fabric flowers my mom made me last year. Several of you left comments saying that you would like to know how she made them.

My mom and I had been trying to figure out when we could get together so that I could take pictures of her making some fabric flowers and write down what she did. However, with the sickness we dealt with this winter and general busyness we never got the job done.

Industrious woman that my mom is, she decided she wouldn’t wait for me and took pictures and wrote up her own tutorial of how she makes the flowers.

She created a word document and all I had to do was a little tweaking to create a PDF to share with you. (My mom is pretty awesome!)

Fabric Flower Tutorial

My mom, whose name is Jenny, has made tons of these flowers in all sorts of fabrics. They are all so pretty and I am always amazed at how different they look depending on which fabrics she used.

If you like my mom’s tutorial please be sure to leave her some comment love for all of her hard work. Also, if you make any flowers with this tutorial be sure to either leave me a link to your blog post or send me a picture. Happy Sewing!

Thanks, Amber. I will tell her. :)

These are really pretty. They would make a nice Mother’s Day gift. They look like they would even survive being mailed 400 miles (which is how far away my mother lives).

Thanks so much, Terese! Yes, I bet they would survive the trip much better than real flowers. :)
