School’s out and my kids are ready for some summertime fun!
While I don’t like to plan our days too full in the summer, it is nice to have a list of fun things we hope to accomplish.
Last year I came up with a summer bucket list that we enjoyed. Even though we didn’t finish everything on our list, we still had a great summer.
Since we live in a Pinterest world it can be easy to get caught up in making the “perfect” summer bucket list.
Guess what? Your kids aren’t going to care if your list is “Pinterestworthy”. They will only remember the fun times you shared.
With that in mind, here are 20 things on our summer bucket list.
- Go Strawberry Picking
- Go to a Children’s Museum
- Check out Books at the Library (at least 2 times/month)
- Have a Yard Sale (We didn’t end up having a yard sale.)
- Take a Vacation
- Go to a Waterpark
- Ride a Train
- Visit a Local Historical Museum (We didn’t get to do this.)
- Play at a Park (We did this on our vacation.)
- Go Swimming
- Grow a Garden
- Catch Lightning Bugs (We were never up late enough to catch any.)
- Have a Picnic (We attended a couple of church picnics.)
- Watch Fireworks (We did but I didn’t post about it.)
- Go on a Nature Scavenger Hunt (We didn’t do this one, but I am thinking fall would be a good time.)
- Fill a baby pool with bubbles and blow bubbles until we run out. (We never got to this one.)
- Attend the County Fair
- Go Bowling (We didn’t do this, but I am thinking it might make a good winter activity.)
- See a Movie at a Theater (We saw Despicable Me 2)
- Host a Pool Party/Cookout
I will be sharing about our summer bucket list activities here, and I hope that you will be inspired to do something fun with your children this summer.
Do you have a summer bucket list?
