I want to start off this post by saying a big thank you to all of you who commented on my Tomato Basil Pasta Salad recipe. While I didn’t end up winning, I was overwhelmed with the number of comments I received. 88 total comments was definitely a record number for this blog. You all rock!
In another item of business, I am not sure if any of you missed my picture post last week but I just didn’t get it posted. I decided on Monday that I would just post 2 weeks worth of pictures today.
Part of me has really felt like giving up on this daily picture taking/weekly picture posting thing. However, I am going to persevere and continue on until the end of the year.
With that in mind, here is a look at my last two weeks, in pictures.
Monday (7-9-12)
Two Spoons. Because sometimes one just isn’t enough.
Tuesday (7-10-12)
Joshua has really been such a good big brother to Janna lately. When I took this picture he was reading her a story while I finished getting everything ready for us to go run some errands.
Wednesday (7-11-12)
Joshua was also a big help shucking the corn we picked from our garden. Actually, all three boys and their daddy were a big help.
Thursday (7-12-12)
I just realized I haven’t even posted about the fair. Julia made all three items she is wearing in this picture and won Jr. Grand Champion of the fashion revue. She looked so grown up!
Friday (7-13-12)
I didn’t take a single picture on this day. Ooops!
Saturday (7-14-12)
I have talked about the drought we are in my weekly garden posts. We are still nearly 12 inches below normal this year, but on this day we ended up with about an inch of rain. It was awesome!
The three older kids played in the rain and it was a hard rain. They didn’t care. Janna and Joseph stayed inside but Janna stood in the door saying “wash” over and over again while doing the sign for wash. She thought she needed to go out in the rain and wash her hands.
Sunday (7-15-12)
There were a few pictures taken this day but they were by James and they were very blurry. I guess we didn’t need a good shot of Janna and I in the baby contest.
Monday (7-16-12)
While I was coming up with the recipe for the Tomato Basil Pasta Salad, I also came up with a backup recipe. It only had two ingredients and was super yummy. It could be a sandwich spread or a dip. My husband preferred it on crackers.
I am calling it Santa Fe Chicken Dip. To make it all you need are two cups of cooked and shredded chicken (leftover or even canned chicken would work just fine) and a 10 ounce container of Santa Fe flavored Philadelphia Cooking Creme. Very easy!
Tuesday (7-17-12)
I shared this picture in my weekly garden update post. I love eating produce from our garden. We eat so well in the summer.
Wednesday (7-18-12)
They’re either best friends or wrestling and fighting around. Either way, I love this duo. Well, maybe I enjoy them more when they are cheesing it up like this but I love them no matter what.
Thursday (7-19-12)
It is tomato canning time. On Thursday, I juiced a bunch of our tomatoes. Apparently, our countertops and walls in the kitchen needed a little splash of color which they received during this process.
Friday (7-20-12)
Yesterday we picked 2 cups of grapes. This is a first for us. We have had a grape vine for about 4 years but this is the first year we have had a measurable amount of grapes. I think I will try to make some jelly out of them.
Saturday (7-21-12)
I think this is my favorite picture I have taken the past two weeks. Janna decided that her daddy needed kisses this morning and gave him at least a dozen while I snapped some pictures. It was so sweet!
Well, that’s a glimpse into our past two weeks. I hope you have had a great week, too!
